Edwin D. Schnader

Edwin D. "Cowboy" Schnader, 83, of Blandon, Maidencreek Township, passed away January 20, 2017, at his home. He was the devoted husband of Diane (Seidel), with whom he shared 46 years of marriage.

Born in Shillington, PA, he was the son of the late William and Caroline (Schmeck) Schnader. He attended the former Shillington High School. Edwin was a proud member of the United States Navy. He will receive military honors at his service.

Edwin was employed as a truck driver both by Jones Trucking and later by Beacon Container.

He was always seen wearing his cowboy hat. He was a member of the Skyline Motorcycle Drill Team. Edwin was also a member of the Teamsters 429 Club. He enjoyed hunting, motorcycles, horses, camping, and NASCAR.

In addition to his loving wife, Edwin is survived by his seven children: Donald, husband of Nancy Schnader, Exeter Township; Gary Schnader, also of Exeter Township; Dennis, husband of Beth Schnader, Mt. Penn; Dawn, wife of Laverne Hack, Mt. Penn; Lawrence Zieckler, East Greenville; Jeffrey, husband of Lisa Zieckler, Hyde Park; and Holly, wife of Keith Goodwin, Pennsburg, PA.

Edwin is survived by seventeen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his brother, Lew, husband of Monica Schnader, West Lawn. He is predeceased by a sister, Victoria Schnader, and a brother, Vince Schnader.

Edwin will also be dearly missed by his constant companion, his dog Toby.

A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 AM at the Kuhn Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 5153 Kutztown Road, Temple PA, 19560. In honor of Edwin's love for animals, in lieu of flowers, Edwin's family kindly requesting that friends and family make contributions to the Animal Rescue League of Berks County, 58 Kennel Road, Birdsboro, PA 19508, in Edwin's memory.
