Edward A. Vetovich, Sr., 82, of Reading, died February 23, 2008, in the Villa St. Elizabeth, Reading.
His wife, Mary C. (Lombardo) Vetovich, died July 10, 2005.
Born March 27, 1925 in Shamokin, Schuylkill County, he was the son of the late Cecelia M. Romanowskie.
He was employed as a welder for Dana Corporation for 30 years, retiring in 1980, and also worked for Reading Pretzel Manufacturing Company from 1980-1988.
Edward was a member of St. Ignatius Roman Catholic Church, Whitfield.
He served in the United States Army during World War II.
Survivors include a son, Edward A. Vetovich, Jr., Reading.; a daughter, A. Jacqueline Vetovich, Wyomissing; a step-son Michael Huffert, Sweet Valley; and a step-daughter Patricia A. (Huffert) wife of Todd Balthaser, Sinking Spring.
There are three grandsons, four step-grandchildren and one step great-granddaughter also surviving.
Graveside services will be Thursday at 11:30 a.m. in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 9:30 to 10 a.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading, PA 19611. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, 498 Bellevue Avenue, Reading, PA 19605.
