Edward Ritz

Edward Ritz, 90, died February 12, 2010 in his Wyomissing residence surrounded by his loving family.

He was the husband of Josephine (Cappadona) Ritz to whom he was married to for 55 wonderful years.

Born March 9, 1919 in Perkasie, he was the son of the late James A. and Annie (Groover) Ritz.

Edward was a 1937 graduate of Reading High School.

He worked as a tube inspector for Firestone Tire and Rubber Co., Pottstown, for over 34 years, retiring in 1981.

Edward was an avid golfer and bowler. He was a lifelong fan of the Philles and Eagles.

He was a member of Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church.

Edward was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, serving in World War II.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Holy Rosary Church, 237 Franklin St., Reading PA 19602. Entombment will be in Gethsemane Mausoleum. Friends may call Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading.
