Edward G. Mitchell

Edward G. Mitchell, 86, of Cumru Township, passed away May 7, 2015, in Mifflin Center.

He was the husband of Ruth N. (Davis) Mitchell.

Born in Frackville, he was the son of the late Joseph and Anna (Galinis) Mitchell.

He was a graduate of West Mahanoy Township High School.

Edward was a U.S. Army veteran.

He was employed by Georgia Pacific.

Edward was a devoted member of St. John Baptist de LaSalle Roman Catholic Church, Shillington.

He loved fishing, walking and repairing others lawn mowers.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children: Edward Mitchell, Schuylkill County; David, husband of Brenda Mitchell, Robesonia; Ruth Ann, wife of Dennis Guiles, Shillington; and Gail, wife of Vincent Long, Reading; seven grandchildren: Rebecca; Cassandra; Kyle; Sean; Charles; Colin; and Josh; and one great-grandson, Ethan.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m. in St. John Baptist de LaSalle R.C. Church, 42 Kerrick Rd., Shillington, PA 19607. Burial will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
