Edward Lawrence

Eternal rest was granted to Edward Lawrence (Wawryzniak) on November 19, 2023, 91 years young, devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was blessed to be in the company of his loving family when he passed. Born June 22, 1932, he was the son of Joseph and Julia M. (Bukowski) Wawrzyniak. Edward was the loving husband of M. Herminia (Delgado) Lawrence, with whom he shared 62 years.

Edward, also known as "Pop", was dedicated to his family and worked tirelessly until the end. He worked as a truck driver for 50 years, as a painter, and for Dana Corporation. He also served his country by joining the Army.

Pop was many things: a snappy dresser, athlete, karaoke singer, great polka dancer, saxophone player and jaw harpist. He lived a healthy life because of Herminia's good home cooking!

Edward was a man of great faith in God and he shared that faith with his wife, children, and grandchildren. His children continue to practice their Catholic faith because he was such a strong role model and a positive influence.

In addition to his spouse, Edward will be missed by his children: Christine Sullivan (Robert), Diana Lawrence (Stan), Theodore Lawrence, Lisa Quirk (Kenneth), Christopher Lawrence (Jennifer), Lucinda Lawrence, and Daniel Lawrence (Vincenza). He is also survived by his grandchildren: Adriana, Alyssa, Alaina, Riley, Kyle, Ava, Ana, Adelyn, Grace, and Edward; and his great-grandchildren: Michalina, Josephine, Audrina, and William. Also surviving are his sisters, Florence Bush and Dorothy Filippini.

Edward was predeceased by his brothers: Richard, Joseph, and Wallace Wawrzyniak; and his sisters: Anne Lis, Virginia Harakal, and Julia Schaeffer.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, November 25, 2023 at 10am at St. Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Church, 2600 St Albans Dr, Reading, PA 19609. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Reading. A viewing will be held Friday evening from 6-8pm at Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Avenue West Reading, PA 19611.
