Edward Lloyd Folk, Jr., 82, formerly of Spring Township, died April 10, 2009 at 12:55 a.m. in Berks Heim, Bern Township, where he had been a resident since January 21.
He was the husband of Jennie V. (Mulutzie) Folk, whom he married April 12, 1980.
Born April 5, 1927 in Reading, he was a son of the late Edward Lloyd, Sr. and Annie (Smith) Folk.
Edward was employed by Firestone as a Journeyman Machinist for 15 years as well as Carpenter Technology for 10 years, retiring in 1993.
He served in the U.S. Marines.
Edward enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and bowling.
Also surviving are three children, Mark E., husband of Lori R. (Gold) Folk of Schaefferstown; April (Folk), wife of Pat Roth of Greenfields; and Lisa (Folk), wife of Joseph C. Melton of North Carolina.
There is also a step-son, Ted C., husband of Loraine M. (Reinert) Lash of Alsace Township and a step-daughter, Karen M. (Lash), wife of Timothy R. Kunkelman of Muhlenberg Township.
In addition, there is a sister Betty (Folk), wife of Richard Brunner of Emmaus, Lehigh County surviving.
Edward has five grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and four step-great grandchildren also surviving.
Services will be Tuesday at 12:00 p.m. in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale, with Rev. Walton R. Horn officiating. A viewing will be held one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Good Shepherd Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township.
