Edward P. Hissinger

Edward "Eddie" P. Hissinger, 76, went home to glory in heaven surrounded by his adoring family on Tuesday, July 18, 2017 in his daughter, Linda's home with whom he resided.

Eddie is best known for his loyal companionship, keen life sense, love for hunting, and the love and support he gave to his children and dogs. He was the first to offer a helping hand when asked and never expected anything in return. He could always always be found in camo in search of the big buck.

He was the son of Edward and Katherine (Keith) Hissinger.

Eddie enlisted in the Army, wanting to serve and protect our country. He then worked at Firestone in Pottstown until the plant shut down. He went on to own his own business, "The Hole In One", in Reading. Many patrons showed up just to chat with him. After retirement, he worked as a handyman and full-time grandfather. He had childhood best friends that he still continued to keep in touch with.

He was a loving and dependable father to his six children, Michael, husband of Sherri Hracho; Francine, wife of Keith Daubert; Linda Fair; Jacqueline Graeff, Katherine Giorgi; and Michele, wife of Ed Rivera. He is also survived by twenty-two grandchildren and by nine great-grandchildren. Also surviving is his brother, Robert "Squirrel" Hissinger and his wife Tina.

He is predeceased by his sister, Maryanne Wartluft.

The family will be hosting a Memorial Service on Monday, July 24, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. in the Stirling Mansion, 1120 Centre Ave, Reading, PA 19601. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
