Edward V. Gruzdowski, 94, formerly of Kenhorst, passed away June 19, 2011 in Reading Hospital Medical Center.

His wife, Helen B. (Vencel) Gruzdowski, died on June 2, 1997.

Born in Bryansk, Russia, he was the son of the late John V. and Anna (Jurgilewicz) Gruzdowski.

He was employed for 34 years as a bailer by Sonoco Products, formerly Continental Can, retiring in 1981.

Edward was a member of St. Anthony of Padua, Millmont.

He served in the Polish Army during WWII.

Edward was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who will be dearly missed by all who loved him.

Edward is survived by his daughter, Tina, wife of Joseph Voelker, Robeson Township; four grandchildren, Steve, husband of Danielle Voelker, Spring Township, Erin, wife of Shane Trostle, Robeson Township, Kristen, wife of Shawn Overley, Shillington and Lauren Voelker, Denver, CO. Seven great-grandchildren, Zachary Voelker, Brandon Voelker, Stone Voelker, Brody Trostle, Sydni Trostle, Dylan Overley and Jaxon Overley also survive him.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10:00 a.m. in St. Anthony of Padua, 501 Summit Ave., Reading, PA 19611. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. in the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association, 237 Court St., Reading, PA 19601. Edward J.
