Edward Scott Groh

Edward Scott Groh, 78, of Laureldale, died November 11, 2013 in Reading Hospital.

He was the husband of Dawn Lynette (Seidel) Groh, who died July 30, 2009.

Born July 31, 1935 in West Reading, he was a son of the late Jay Oscar and Erma Ida (Bernhart) Groh.

Edward was a 1952 graduate of Reading High School.

He was employed as an electrician with the IBEW 743 Union for 43 years.

Edward served in the U.S. Army.

He was a member of Laureldale Senior Club, Alsace Senior Club and Golden Muhls.

Edward was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Surviving are his two children: Jeffrey A., husband of Sari A. (Simon) Groh of Mercer Island, WA and Kelly M. Groh of Laureldale and her partner, Matthew J. Vassallo.

In addition, he is survived by his four siblings: Thomas B. Groh of Reading, Elsiemae Brown of York, ME; Louise A. Feger of Leesport and Elwood B. Groh of Birdsboro.

There are also three grandchildren surviving: Olivia E. Groh, Bailey A. Groh and Maya E. Groh.

Edward was predeceased by his two brothers, Emerson M. Groh and Jay W. Groh.

The family would like to extend special thanks and appreciation to Reading Hospital's E-2 Department as well as Reading Hospital Rehab at Spring Ridge, for the exceptional care given to Edward.

A Memorial Service will be held Friday at 5:30 p.m. in Kuhn-Stitzel Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale. A visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
