Edward Leroy Erb

Edward "Butch" L. Erb, Sr., 79, of Reading, passed away during the late hours of Wednesday, December 1, 2021 in the care of St. Joseph Medical Center. He shared 55 years of marriage with Dorothy V. (Zeiber). Born to the late Raymond and Grace (Zieber) Erb, Butch worked for many years at the General Battery Corporation, retiring when the company shut its doors in 2003.

Butch was a quiet man who enjoyed going on walks when he was able. He was an avid bowler in his youth, and he enjoyed watching many sports, including baseball, football, and hockey, and would attend many games alongside Dorothy.

Left to treasure Butch's memory are his wife and their children: Charles R. Erb, Sr, of Blandon; Wendy A. Erb (companion of the late Santos Nunez) of Reading; Dori L. Erb (companion of Jessie Marquez) of Reading; and Edward L. Erb, Jr, (widower of Denise) of Reading; ten treasured grandchildren; 24 beloved great grandchildren; 3 step great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his five siblings.

Friends and family are invited to gather at the Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading, on Tuesday, December 7, 2021, from 10:30 a.m. until the start of service at 12:30 p.m with committal to follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park, 390 W Neversink Rd, Reading.
