Edward C. Roland

Edward Clayton Roland, 89, formerly of Shillington, died Aug. 23 at 11:10 a.m. in Berks Heim, where he had resided since March 1, 2005. His wife, June I. (Litchard) Roland, died Aug. 11, 2003.

Born in Reading, he was a son of the late George W. and Bessie M. (Trupp) Roland.

Roland was employed for 36 years as a machine operator by William Leininger Co., Mohnton, retiring in 1981.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Reading.

Surviving are three nieces and two nephews.

Services will be Monday at 1 p.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., West Reading, with the Rev. Jeanne Beadle officiating. Viewing will be Monday from noon to 1 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Wyomissing Cemetery, Gouglersville.
