Edward Darriel Burkhead

Edward Darriel Burkhead Jr., 44, of Lancaster, passed away on September 13, 2008 in his residence.

He was the husband of Laura (Kline) Burkhead.

Born in Miami, Fl., he was an only son of Merita (Blizzard) Groskreutz, Robesonia and the late Edward D. Burkhead Sr.

He was employed by Lancaster General Regional Medical Center as an operating room registered nurse.

He was an Army veteran.

In addition to his wife and mother, other survivors include his step-father Robert Groskreutz, Convers, Ga., two daughters, Taylor Burkhead at home and Shana Alt, Elizabethtown; a step-son James Foster, Brooksville, Fl and a step-daughter, Tara Foster, Brooksville, Fl.

Other survivors include three sisters, Jamie, wife of Michael O'Leary, Robesonia; Jacquelyn, wife of Kriss Fox, Fredericksburg, Va; Lorie, wife of Robert Carmichael, Woodstock, Ga.; and one step-granddaughter.
