Edward Albert Baumener, 92, of Shillington, passed away February 2, 2009 in Berks Heim, Bern Township.
His wife, Ruth I. (Bohn) Baumener, died September 6, 2005.
Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Harry A. and Nellie T. (Hill) Baumener.
He was a 1933 graduate of Reading High School.
Edward was employed by Governor Mifflin Schools as a printer for 19 years, retiring in 1979.
He was a member of Immanuel United Church, Shillington and various associations, such as: Goodwill Beneficial Association, Travelers Protective Association, Red Hot Hatters Square Dance Club, and Star Dusters Square Dance Club of Shillington.
Edward was a U.S. Marine veteran serving in WWII.
He is survived by three sons: Barry A., Mohnton, Kirk E., Shillington, and Sheldon S., Penn Township.
Edward is also survived by seven grandchildren: Erik, Melissa, Sean, Megan, Christopher, Ryan, Shawna, and three great-grandchildren: Nicholas, Colter, and Logan.
Services will be Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in the Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading. Burial will be in Bern Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Salvation Army, 301 South 5th St., Reading, PA19602 or the American Red Cross, 701 Centre Ave., Reading, PA 19601.
