Edna M. Trout

Edna Mae "Sis" (Fairchild) Trout, 96, of Laureldale, died July 22, 2010, in her daughter's Laureldale residence surrounded by her family.

She was married August 26, 1939, to Stanley Lawrence Trout, Sr., who died January 27, 2003.

Edna, affectionately known as "Nana" to family and friends, was born in Reading, PA on January 31, 1914, and was a daughter of the late Edwin A. and Helen M. (Grant) Fairchild.

She was a long time member of Calvary Lutheran Church, Laureldale.

Edna was employed a number of years with Willson Safety Products, Reading.

She was later employed a number of years with W.T. Grant, Muhlenberg Township, where she ran the snack bar, before retiring in 1968.

"Nana" loved her sports, especially the Philadelphia Phillies and Duke basketball.

She also loved spending time with family, fireworks, baking, playing cards, the beach, Walt Disney World, and going out to eat.

Edna never went anywhere without her camera.

She is also survived by three children: Jeanne L., wife of William P. Sandel of Laureldale; Stanley L. Trout Jr., partner of Eileen P. Weston of Macungie, Lehigh County; and Robert W., husband of Elaine P. (Yerger) Trout of Temple.

Other survivors include four grandchildren: Scott R. Sandel; Kristen M. Sandel M.D.; Stefanie L. (Trout) Dierolf; and Kevin E. Trout.

There are also two great grandchildren surviving: Alexander M. Dierolf and Riley M. Dierolf, and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by four siblings: William W. Fairchild, Edwin A. Fairchild, John L. Fairchild and Patsy J. Denscheilmann.

Services will be Tuesday at 11:00 am in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Rd., Laureldale with Rev. Thomas F. Irwin, Jr., officiating. A viewing will be held from 10:00 am until time of service. Burial will be in Laureldale Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township.
