Edna I. Hoffman

Edna I. (Schaffstall) Hoffman, 100, of West Lawn, died April 24, 2010 in The Reading Hospital and Medical Center.

She was the wife of William H. Hoffman who died March 24, 1997.

Born June 15, 1909 in Lykens, Dauphin County, she was the daughter of the late A. Peter and Margaret (Welker) Schaffstall.

Edna was a 1927 graduate of Lykens High School and a 1931 graduate of Shippensburg University.

She was employed as a teacher with Wilson School District for 23 years, retiring in June, 1969.

Edna loved watching birds and other animals in nautre.

Surviving is a son, William F. Hoffman of West Lawn.

Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading. Entombment will be in Charles Evans Cemetery, Reading.
