Edna L. Hess

Edna Lillian (Moyer) Hess, 89, formerly of Allentown, died March 20, 2014 in Phoebe Berks Village and Healthcare, Wernersville, surrounded by her loving family.

She was the wife of Gerald Austin Hess who died February 2, 1992.

Born July 8, 1924 in Maidencreek Township, she was a daughter of the late Sylvester and Minnie (Christ) Moyer.

Edna was employed as a line worker with Pet Milk, Allentown, for 18 years, retiring in 1989.

She was a member of St. Peter's U.C.C., Molltown.

Edna enjoyed crocheting and gardening and was though of as being an excellent cook and baker. She enjoyed the company of her love birds.

Surviving are her three children: Gerald E. Hess of Whitehall; Patrice L., wife of Scott Stratton of Bowling Green, IL and Jane E., wife of Donald Hodgkins of West Lawn.

Other survivors include her brother, Lee, husband of Betty Moyer of Myerstown, seven grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.

Edna was predeceased by her three brothers, Stanley, Howard and Edgar Moyer and her three sisters, Helen Davis, Pauline Lorah and Minnie Schlegel.

Services will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. in St. Peter's U.C.C., 219 Maidencreek Road, (Molltown) Fleetwood, PA 19522. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service in the church. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.
