Edgar L. Dixon

Edgar LeRoy Dixon, 85, formerly of Shillington and Cumru Township, died September 19, 2008 at 9:37 pm in ManorCare Health Services, Inc., Spring Township.

He was the widower of Virginialee E. (Tiehel) Dixon, who died February 25, 1997.

Born March 23, 1923 in Orwigsburg, Schuylkill County, he was a son of the late Ervin and Helen A. (Yeager) Dixon.

He was employed 25 years with Wyomissing Corporation, West Reading, before retiring as a supervisor.

Edgar was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Shillington.

He was a past president of Rainbow Strollers Square Dance Club of Berks County.

Edgar is survived by four siblings: Wilbur T. of Leesport; James of Port Clinton; Rosetta Bitzer of Cressona and Arlene J. Smith of Schuylkill Haven.

He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Services will be Tuesday at 9:30 am in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading. Burial will be in Charles Evans Cemetery, Reading. For online condolences, visit www.kuhnfuneralhome.com
