Edgar H. Hinkle

Edgar H. Hinkle, 86, of Hanover, formerly of Reading, passed away in Gettysburg Hospital.

He was the widower of Rita R. (Ruoff) Hinkle.

Born in Reading, he was a son of the late E. Edgar and Florence (Hoffman) Hinkle.

He was a graduate of West Reading High School in 1940 and Wharton School of Business in 1958.

Edgar was a data processer for Berkshire Knitting Mills and a data processing manager for Camp Industries, Reading over 20 years, retiring in 1987.

He was a 50 year member of the Masonic Shrine Isaac Hiester, Reading Lodge #660.

Edgar also was a member of the Imperial Council of the Ancient Arabic Order of the Mystic Shrine for North America.

He was active in the Jr. Chamber of Commerce and past president of the Data Processing Management Association.

Edgar was an avid model airplane enthusiastic.

He was a U.S. Marine Corp veteran serving in the Quada Canal of WWII.

Edgar is survived by a son, Eric, husband of Kathy Hinkle, Hanover and a brother, Gerald Hinkle, Shillington.

He is also survived by two granddaughters, Kristen Hinkle and Ellen Roth.

Services will be Tuesday December 30 at 1:00 p.m. in the Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery. Friends may call one hour before the services in the funeral home. Online condolences may be recorded at www.kuhnfuneralhome.com.
