Earl Frederick Kegerise

Earl (Fred) Kegerise, 87 years old, of Fleetwood, Pa. died peacefully on Thursday, June 26, 2014, in his residence.

He was born on June 16, 1927, in Reading to the late Raymond G. and Maude (Peters) Kegerise and was the husband of Naomi (Loeb) Kegerise for nearly 67 years.

In addition to his wife, Earl is survived by 2 sons, Larry, husband of Kaye, Oley and Raymond, husband of Rosanne, Mertztown. There are also 5 grandchildren, Tina, wife of Gerald Hess, York, Todd, husband of Lisa, Oley, Cory Kegerise, Philadelphia, Melanie, wife of Josh Sheetz, Mertztown and Ryan, husband of Emily, Maryland. There are four great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn Hess, Delaney and Chase Kegerise and Adalynn Sheetz.

He was predeceased by his siblings, Laray, Helen, Grant and Wesley. Surviving is his brother, Richard.

Earl was a graduate of Oley High School class of 1946, a World War II veteran, a 64 year member of the American Legion Post #878 of Oley, Huguenot Lodge #377, Kutztown,Pa., TPA and Rajah Temple. He was also a member of the Blandon Lions Club, receiving the Melvin Jones Fellowship Award.

A Master plumber by trade, Earl was the owner of Earl F. Kegerise Inc. for many years before his retirement. He also served as plumbing Inspector for the Boro of Laureldale for 27 years, was a past president of Reading Suburban PHCC and a Past President of Pa. PHCC.

Hobbies included hunting, golfing and working in his yard.

Earl was a member of Friedens United Church of Christ, 337 Main Street, Oley, Pa.

A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, August 3, 2014 at 2 p.m. in Friedens United Church of Christ, 337 Main Street, Oley.
