Earl H. Drumheller, 89, of West Reading, passed away December 24, 2013 in ManorCare, Laureldale.
He was the husband of the late Sara M. (Young) Drumheller.
Born in Oley, he was a son of the late Lawrence and Annie (Hafer) Drumheller.
Earl proudly served in the US Army during World War II, earning two purple hearts. He served in the 28th Division, 110th Infantry, B Company. He was a POW for 104 days from December 20, 1944 to April 2, 1945.
For 32 years, Earl worked as a foundry man for Rockwell International.
He loved spending time with his wife, deep sea fishing, trips to Hawley, PA and socializing on Friday and Saturday nights.
Earl is survived by his brother, David Drumheller, Oley, a niece, Barbara Lentz, and nephews: Douglas Young, Robert Reinert, and Gene Reinert.
He was predeceased by two sisters, Betty Lowe and Helen Reinert, and also a niece, Betty L. Young.
Services will be Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in Kuhn-Stitzel Funeral Homes and Crematory Inc. 423 Main St. Oley, PA 19547. A viewing will be held from 10:30 a.m. p.m. to 11:00 a.m.. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Exeter Township.
