Earl M. Bechtel

Earl M. Bechtel, 82 of Hamburg died in the Laurel Center, Tilden Township on December 11, 2010 where he had resided the past 18 months. He was the husband of Phyllis (Ott) Bechtel of Hamburg. Earl was born in Pottstown and was the son of the late Paul and Anna L. (Hildenbrand) Bechtel. Earl worked for Harris Pine Mills in Hamburg, and then as a machinist for Hood Manufacturing, Hamburg retiring in 1991. Earl worked part time as a utility man for the Laurel Center last working in 1998. He was a member of the Hamburg Seventh Day Adventist Church, Tilden Township and an Army veteran of WWII. In addition to his wife he is survived by 1 daughter, Dawn Doreen (Bechtel) Spayd, Hamburg, 3 sons, Daniel David Bechtel, Darryl Dennis Bechtel and Duane Darnell Bechtel all of Hamburg, 9 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and 1 sister, Louise (Bechtel) Diener , Boyertown. Earl was predeceased by a daughter Debra Darlene (Bechtel) Rubendall in 1999. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11:00 AM from the Burkey & Driscoll Funeral Home, Inc. Hamburg. A viewing will be held on Thursday evening from 7:00 to 8:30 PM and on Friday from 10:00 to 11:00 AM in the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery, Tilden Township.
