Earl B. Heffner, 92, of Topton and formerly of Kutztown, died November 11, 2011 in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salibury Township.
Born in Fleetwood, he was a son of the late Oscar H. and Sallie (Beitler) Heffner.
Earl was a 1927 graduate of Fleetwood High School.
He was employed as a carpenter with Quakermaid Kitchens and Schlegel Builders, retiring in 1982.
He was a U.S. Army Air Force veteran, serving in WWII.
Earl was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Fleetwood.
He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and hunting with his dogs. One of his hobbies was making custom furniture and over the years, he's assisted many family members and friends with construction and woodworking projects.
Earl was a longtime homeowner in Virginville. Since 2006, he was a resident of the Buehrle Center at the Lutheran Home at Topton, where he regularly participated in the assisted-living activities of that community.
He is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Earl was predeceased by his siblings: Carl Heffner, David Heffner, Edna Young, Esta Kniss and Mae Focht.
Services will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 117 East Arch Street, Fleetwood, Pa 19522. Viewing will be held from 9:00 until the time of service in the church. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery, Dryville.
