Earl Milton Adams, 85, died peacefully in his Hamburg residence on Thursday, February 24, 2022.
He was the husband of Betty (Hess) Adams; they were married on June 10,1995.
Born in Shartlesville he was a son of the late Louis M. and Ada (Henne) Adams.
Earl was the father of two children, Cheryl Martin, companion of Jeff Groff; Shartlesville and Ronald (deceased), widower of Denise Adams, Schuylkill Haven. Earl was also the step-father of four children: Wanda, wife of Bill Moore, Womelsdorf; Todd Lesher, Tilden Township; Deborah Henne (deceased) and Yvonne Henne (deceased). He was the loving grandfather of five grandchildren: Billy, husband of Delight Harvey, Robesonia; Ryan, husband of Kristie Martin, Leesport; Josh Martin, companion of Amber Miccicke, Pottsville; Zachary, husband of Ashley Martin, Lebanon; and Nicholas Moore (deceased). Earl is also survived by eight great-grandchildren: Cody, husband of Victoria Harvey; Madison Harvey; Ella, Kenzie, Carson, Adalyn, and William Martin; and Gavin Miccicke.
Earl was predeceased by two siblings, Ralph Adams and Esther Scharff.
Earl graduated from Hamburg Area High School in 1955. Growing up in Shartlesville, he worked on family farms in the area. His longest and most dedicated employment was Quakermaid Kitchens, where he worked for over 35 years. He was most recently employed by Birch Hill Foundries, Shoemakersville until his retirement.
In his younger years, he was very active in Hamburg Jaycess and the Lions Club. In 1970, he was the chairman for the King Frost Parade and was instrumental to its founding. He spent a whole year planning that parade, starting with the day after the Parade in 1969, mailing out letters to reserve bands and floats for the next year's event. He also served as President of the Lions Club from 2002-2003.
Earl took great pride in his home, and very meticulously maintained his yard. He was an avid Phillies and Eagles fan.
Services will be held Wednesday, March 2, 2022, at 1:30 p.m. at Burkey & Driscoll Funeral Home, Hamburg with Rev. Mark D. Jensen officiating. Burial will follow at Berks County Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to the Hamburg Lions Club. Condolences may be expressed at www.burkeydriscoll.com.
