E. Jean Holtzer

E. Jean Holtzer, 92 formerly of Hamburg died August 1st in Luther Acres Manor, Lititz. She was born in Pottstown, PA and was the daughter of the late Edward A. and Florence A. (Good) Schlear. Jean was a 1940 graduate of Hamburg High School and attended the McCann School of Business. She then worked for two years for the McCann School Business Administrator in Harrisburg. Jean then worked forty-one years as the office manager for Windsor Knitting Mills, Hamburg, retiring in 1984. She was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church, Hamburg and moved to the Lutheran Retirement Community in 1987, where she was active in crafts and activities. Jean was a Past Matron of Blue Mountain Chapter 443 O.E.S. She is survived by one sister Dorothy S. Fisher, of Lititz. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Johns Lutheran Church, Church & Pine Streets, Hamburg, PA 19526. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, August 7th, at 11:00 AM in St. John's Cemetery. The Burkey & Driscoll Funeral Home, Inc. 40 S. Fourth Street, Hamburg is in charge of arrangements.
