Dr. Richard J. Westcott, Md

Dr. Richard J. Westcott, MD, died March 5, 2015, at St. Joseph Hospital.

He was the husband of Mary E. Westcott.

Born in Camden, NJ, he was a son of the late Richard J. and Mary Ann "Jan" (Vlachos) Westcott.

He was a graduate of The George School, Dickinson College and Temple Medical School.

He was a retired Major serving in the U.S. Army.

Dr. Westcott was on the staff at Reading Hospital and St. Joseph Hospital. He retired as Chief of Surgery at Community General Hospital.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children: Richard J., III, husband of Annmarie Westcott, CT; Carl J., husband of Marlena Westcott, NC; Jan E. Westcott, wife of Stephen Krasinsky, IL; and Shelley, wife of Robert Zappacosta, PA; his brother, Michael N., husband of Dawn Westcott, ME; and seven grandchildren: Katherine; Nina; Benjamin; Ada Violet; Bernard; Amanda; and John Anthony.
