Douglas Michel Sammak, 81, of Hellertown, Northampton County, died February 25th at 2:30 pm in the Reading Hospital and Medical Center, where he had been since February 9th.
He was the husband of JoAnne (Cestone) Sammak.
Born in Elmira, New York, he was a son of the late Michel Antoine and Marie (Hammond) Sammak.
He was a graduate of Watkins Glen (N.Y.) High School and Lehigh University.
Sammak was the owner for 30 years of Lehigh Foundation until 1981.
He was later employed for a number of years as a manager of the PennDot Office, Muhlenberg Township.
Sammak was a 32nd Degree Mason.
He was an Army Veteran of WWII, where he received a bronze star.
Sammak is also survived by a daughter, Nancy Ellen (Sammak) Petrison of Carversville, Bucks County.
Other survivors include two sons, Douglas H. Sammak of Whitehall, Lehigh County and Jeffrey P. Sammak of Horsham, Montgomery County.
There are also 6 grandchildren.
