Dorothy A. Weisenburger

Dorothy A. (Thompson) Weisenburger, 79, of Wyomissing, died September 21, 2015. Her husband, George M. Weisenburger, died November 19, 1985 after 29 years of marriage; Dorothy had a profound love for her husband.

Born in Williamsport, PA, she was the daughter of the late Grace (Auman) and Leonard Thompson.

Dorothy was a homemaker who was dedicated to her family; one of the best gifts she gave to her children was staying at home to raise them. Dorothy was also a volunteer with the Red Cross, Meals on Wheels and the Wyomissing Public Library.

Dorothy possessed real sincerity which made her a very trustworthy person in her community. Likewise, she was much loved for her great sense of humor and her natural giving spirit.

She is survived by her daughter, Cathy W. Weisenburger, Bronx, NY, and her son, George L. Weisenburger, husband of Patricia, Gilbertsville, PA. There are two grandchildren, Bryan and Andrew Weisenburger. She is also survived by one sister, Joan (Thompson) Knaus of Williamsport. She was predeceased by one sister, Christine (Thompson) Emery.

Services will be held Thursday, September 24, 2015, at 11:30 am in the Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading. Friends may call from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be Friday, September 25, 2015, at 1 pm in Wildwood Cemetery, Williamsport, PA.
