Dorothy I. Vanino

Dorothy I. "Dottie" Vanino, 91, passed away on January 15, 2021, in her Wyomissing residence.

She was the loving wife of Jacob "Jack" Vanino.

Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Charles "Red" and Helen (Frankowski) Wolverton.

She was a graduate of Reading High School in 1947.

Dottie was a bus driver for Wilson School District for 12 years retiring in 1990.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, West Reading.

Dottie was a life member of the American Motorcycle Association and was elected as the first congresswoman for the organization. She was also a professional referee for the AMA. Dottie was a life member of the Pagoda Motorcycle Club. From 1957 through 1976, she was editor and publisher for Cycle Chatter, a monthly newsletter that provided insightful coverage of motorcycling.

In addition to her husband she is survived by her sons, Jeffrey C., husband of Lori, Sinking Spring and Kevin J., husband of Toni, West Lawn; three grandchildren: Derek S. husband of Alexa, Owens Cross Roads, AL; Bradley J. fiancé of Megan Kennedy, Lakewood, OH; and Adam J., West Lawn; and three great grandchildren: Andrik, Alana and Penelope.

The family would like to thank the staff at Bayada Hospice for their incredible care and support. Also, special thanks to Maria, for all the care and support she provided to Dorothy and the family.
