Dorothy M. Schappell

Dorothy M. Schappell, 87, of Hamburg died in her residence May 25th at 2:53 AM. She was the widow of Mark L. Schappell who died February 18, 1996. Dorothy was born December 12, 1927 in Windsor Township and was the daughter of the late Albert and Mabel (Himmelberger) Rubright. She worked as a folder for 25 years at Windsor Knitting Mills, Hamburg, retiring in 1989. Dorothy was a member of Zion's Church, Windsor Castle and its choir. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed sharing what she made with others. One daughter, Sandra A. wife of Ronald Kunkel, Hamburg, one son, Barry L. husband of Gail Schappell, Tilden Township and a foster son, Larry L. Schappell, Shartlesville, and two grandchildren survives Dorothy. Two sisters, Mary Jane Shollenberger and Helen Stitzel, predeceased her. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11:00 AM from Zion's Church, 770 Zion's Church Road, (Windsor Castle), Hamburg. A viewing will be held at the church from 9:30 Am till time of service.
