Dorothy M. Rutter

Dorothy M. (Metzler) Rutter, 97, passed away on Dec. 29, 2006, in the Highlands at Wyomissing, where she had been a resident since 2001. Her husband, Thomas H. Rutter, passed away on June 10, 1987.

Born in Royersford, she was a daughter of the late Herman and Rosa Metzler.

Dorothy was a graduate of St. Luke's Hospital School of Nursing, Philadelphia.

She worked as a registered school nurse for Schuylkill Haven School District. Dorothy worked part time in the office of Chef Alan's Restaurant, West Reading, until she retired in 1998.

She is survived by a son, T. Dale, husband of Elizabeth Rutter, Muhlenberg Park.

Dorothy also is survived by two grandsons, Alan D. and Jeffrey S. Rutter; and six great-grandchildren.

There will be a private service in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading. Burial will be in Laureldale Cemetery.
