Dorothy R. Snyder

Dorothy R. (Batz) Snyder, 90, formerly of Reading, died March 2, 2008 in Highlands at Wyomissing.

She was the wife of Irvin G. Snyder who died April 21, 1988 and predeceased by her first husband Claude W. Batz who died December 9, 1982.

Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Jennie E. (Early) Rapp.

Dorothy was employed 30 years by Carpenter Technologies, Reading, retiring in 1981 in the payroll and advertising department.

She was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church, Laureldale.

Dorothy was a member of the Reading Chapter of the Eastern Star O.E.S. #251.

She was also a past treasurer of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Scottish Rite Bodies, Valley of Reading and a past treasurer of the Berks County Chapter of National Mended Heart Association.

Dorothy is survived by a step-son; Irvin G. Jr., husband of Glory J. (Blankenbiller) Snyder of Spring Township and two step grandchildren; Karen M. Snyder and Jeffrey D. Snyder.

She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Dorothy was predeceased by a sister, Margaret E. Ilg.

Services will be Wednesday 12 noon in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading, with Rev. Grant Wickert officiating. A viewing will held one hour prior to services.
