Dorothy Mae Snyder

Dorothy Mae (Stahler) Snyder, 83, of Ruscombmanor Township, died December 18, 2006 at 8:40 am in the Reading Hospital and Medical Center shortly after admission.

She was the wife of Morris Franklin Snyder, whom she married July 28, 1945.

Born February 24, 1923 in Fleetwood, she was a daughter of the late LeRoy C. and Kathryn E. (Adam) Stahler.

Dorothy was a 1940 graduate of Fleetwood High School and a graduate of Reading Business Institute.

She was employed seven years as a medical secretary with Community General Hospital, last working in 1949.

Dorothy is also survived by a son, Morris F. Snyder Jr., of Ruscombmanor Township and a daughter, Patricia K. wife of Charles G. Essig of Boiling Springs, Cumberland County.

Other survivors include two sisters, Betty R., widow of Edwin Frey of Ruscombmanor Township and Jean K., wife of Fred Hinkle of Reading.

There are also three grandchildren; Royce W. Essig, Terry F. Essig and Megan M. Snyder and four great grandchildren; Ashley L. Essig, Chad W. Essig, Eric F. Essig and Casey A. Essig.

Services will be Thursday at 10:00 am in Becker's St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 265 Maidencreek Road, (Molltown), Fleetwood, PA 19522, with the Rev. MaryAnn Hamm officiating. Viewings will be held Wednesday evening 6:30 - 8:00 pm in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale and Thursday 9:00 am until time of services in the church.
