Dorothy M. Greenawalt

Dorothy M. (Himmelberger) Greenawalt, 86 of Hamburg, passed away December 16, 2013 while in hospice care at the Orwigsburg Center. She was the daughter of the late Jacob and Edna (Arndt) Himmelberger. Dorothy was married to the late Arlan N. Greenawalt who passed away in May, 2004. They were married 58 years and enjoyed traveling/cruising and spending time with family and friends. She was a member of the First United Church of Christ for 75 years and a graduate of Hamburg High School, class of 1945. Dorothy worked in various knitting mills within the community and was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Dorothy is survived by a daughter, Beverly A. Boran wife of John R. Boran, Windsor Township, and cherished by two granddaughters, Jennifer M. Hottenstein, wife of Andrew Hottenstein, Hummelstown, PA and Anne M. Boran of Harrisburg and one great granddaughter, Madison Anne Hottestein. She is also survived by a grandson, Ryan Greenawalt, and predeceased by a son Terry A. Greenawalt. A viewing will be held on Friday from 10:00 to 11:00 AM from the Burkey & Driscoll Funeral Home, Inc, 40 S. 4th Street, Hamburg. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Hamburg. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM.
