Dorothy E. Gordon

Dorothy E. (Seib) Gordon, 74, of Fleetwood, passed away peacefully with her family by her side, in Lehigh Valley Hospital.

She is survived by her husband Kenneth E. Gordon.

Born in Wyomissing, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Freida (Wenzel) Seib.

Other survivors include one son; Steven K. Gordon, husband of Marie, Emmaus, one daughter; Christine E., wife of Keith A. Claytor, Fleetwood, and two grandchildren; Dylan and Shelby Claytor, Fleetwood.

Dorothy loved her family and grandchildren, whom she enjoyed babysitting when they were young, and was happy in their company as they grew older. She took pleasure in sitting by her pool, reading a good book, tending to her bird feeders, and taking care of wildlife. She loved her pet dogs, and cherished her cats who sat with her while she read her novels.

Dorothy loved to travel, and was fortunate to have enjoyed many vacations with her husband and children. In addition to visiting much of the United States and Canada, she particularly appreciated the peaceful beauty of Nova Scotia. As a couple, Dorothy and her husband Ken took a number of cruises, and also visited Europe several times. She also enjoyed many trips to Potter County with her extended family.

After working for a number of years as Secretary to the Assistant Treasurer of Carpenter Steel, she stayed home to raise her children in their formative years. Later she was employed by Fleetwood Area School District as Secretary to the Principal at Fleetwood High. "Dotto" was dedicated and close to many of the staff at Fleetwood, and truly took pleasure in being there to help and interact with the students.

She was a proud Fleetwood Tiger fan, and also very much enjoyed the school plays and concerts. After her children enrolled at Penn State University she became a loyal Nittany Lion fan, and proud "Penn State Mom".

Earlier in life she was an active member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Fleetwood.

Dorothy taught Sunday School, acted as Primary Sunday School Superintendent, and worked as Church Secretary. Her other activities included the Order of the Eastern Star where she attained the level of Worthy Matron, and many years of service at the Evergreen Country Club. Dorothy and her family shared many fun times at "the Evergreens", and she donated her talents to the club for over 20years as Secretary and Assistant Secretary.

After a 7 year battle with vascular dementia, Dorothy has been released and can soar free, in peace. The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to all the friends who've been there with love and support through this difficult journey. May She Rest In Peace.
