Dorothy Frankhouser

Dorothy M. Frankhouser, 73, of Reading, passed away January 2, 2016, in her residence.

Her husband of 37 years, Ronald Frankhouser Sr., passed away February 7, 1997.

Born in West Lawn, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Miriam (Kofroth) Schwarz.

She was previously employed by Prospectus Berco as a nurse's aide before retiring in 1986.

Dorothy was an avid bingo player. She really enjoyed going to Rehoboth beach with her late husband and going out on their boat. Dorothy was a member of the country band, Pretzel City Four in the late 50's and was a huge Willie Nelson and Frank Sinatra fan. She also enjoyed painting and working with ceramics.

She is survived by her children: Ronald I., husband of Bonnie, Birdsboro; William A., husband of Cynde, Lititz; and Carolyn M. Baer, Sinking Spring; siblings: Carolyn Cirulli, Alberta Eberhardt, and Theresa Sheidy; grandchildren: Dawn Peters, Nichole Wedge, Ryan Frankhouser, Ashley Frankhouser, Tyler Sheperak, and Joshua Frankhouser; and great grandchild, Liam Wedge. Many nieces and nephews also survive her.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her siblings: Albert Schwarz Jr., Kathryn Williams, Thomas Schwarz, and Florence Williams.

Services will be held Thursday, January 7, 2016, at 12 p.m. in the Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park.
