Dorothy B. Frankhouser

Dorothy Bernice (Williams) Frankhouser, 74, of Temple, died February 26, 2012 in St. Joseph Medical Center, Bern Township.

She was the wife of Donald David Frankhouser, Sr., whom she married July 1, 1954.

Born July 25, 1937 in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Dorothy (Nice) Williams.

Dorothy attended Reading High School.

She was employed with Luden's Candy Factory for 25 years before retirment.

Dorothy was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Reading.

She was a member of Laureldale AA's.

Surviving are seven children: Diane L. Frankhouser of Muhlenberg Township; Donna L., wife of George R. Osenbach, Jr. of Shillington; Donald D., husband of Shirley J. (Neuen) Frankhouser, Jr. of Kenhorst; Michelle E. Frankhouser of Reading; Tina M., wife of John H. Griffith of Exeter Township; Nancy M., wife of Raymond C. Hopp and David A. Frankhouser, Sr. of Temple.

Other survivors include two sisters, Fern Schmeck of West Reading and Patricia Rice of Laureldale and a brother, Barry L. Williams.

In addition, there are 11 grandchildren: George Osenbach, III., Kyle Osenbach, Jason Frankhouser, Elizabeth (Frankhouser) Okonsky, Shelby E. Frankhouser, Chelsea S. Bradley, Jessica L. (Hiester) Diaz, Richard R. Hiester, Amber N. Hiester, David A. Frankhouser, Jr. and Katie M. Frankhouser and seven great grandchildren.

Dorothy was predeceased by a grandson, Codi A. Frankhouser, three sisters and six brothers.

Dorothy was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister.

Services will be Thursday at 10 a.m. in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale. Viewings will be held Wednesday evening from 6:00-8:00 and Thursday morning from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Berks County Memorial Gardens, Maidencreek Township.
