Dorothy F. Sassaman Peters Ludwig

Dorothy F. Sassaman Peters Ludwig, 85, formerly of Fleetwood, died March 4 at 5:59 p.m. in Lancaster General Hospital, where she had been a patient three days.

She was taken to the hospital from the Masonic Homes Independent Living, Elizabethtown, Lancaster County.

She was predeceased by her first husband, George W. Sassaman, in 1957; her second husband, Chester B. Peters, in 1963; and her third husband, John Ludwig, in 1989.

Born in Wyomissing, she was a daughter of the late William D. and Anna H. (Shultz) Seaman.

Ludwig was employed from 1963 to 1966 as an aide by Reading Rehabilitation Hospital, Cumru Township, and was last employed as a waitress by Ludwig Brothers Service Station, Moselem Springs, retiring in 1974.

She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Fleetwood.

Surviving is a daughter, Barbara L. (Sassaman) Schutter, Port Charlotte, Fla.

Other survivors include four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter.

Services will be Saturday at 11:30 a.m. in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home Inc., Laureldale. Burial will be in Fleetwood Cemetery.
