Dorothy Ethel Delp

Dorothy Ethel (Young) Delp, 82, died February 12, 2014 in her Lower Alsace Township residence.

She was the wife of Lester Leroy Delp, whom she married August 5, 1950.

Born in Ontelaunee Township, PA on May 7, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Lewis and Mami (Gyer) Young.

She was employed a number of years as a packer and stocker with Tray-Pak, Muhlenberg Township.

Dorothy was a member of Zion (Spies) Lutheran Church.

She is also survived by two children: David L., husband of Cheryl A. (Ohlinger) Delp of Lower Alsace Township and Linda A. (Delp), wife of David S. Kramer of Upper Tulpehocken Township.

Other survivors include two siblings: Gertrude (Young), widow of Paul Holland of Vera Beach, Florida and Barbara (Young), wife of George Hartman of Ruscombmanor Township.

There are also four grandchildren: Mark D. Delp, Jessica L. (Gerhard) Scholz, Julie M. (Delp) Mull and Jason D. Gerhard and four great grandchildren: Clayton Delp, Bridget Delp, Rhyse Mull and Ryan Mull.

Dorothy was predeceased by two children: Joyce Marie Delp, who died in 1952 and Mark Alan Delp who died in 1957.

She was also predeceased by four siblings: Leona John, Lewis Young, George Young and Robert Young.

Services will be held Wednesday, February 19th at 1:30 pm in Kuhn-Stitzel Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 423 Main Street, Oley. A viewing will be held Wednesday from 12:00 noon until time of service. Burial will be in Spies-Zion Cemetery, Alsace Township.
