Dorothy E. Chilcote

Dorothy E. Chilcote, 75, of 2508 McKinley Avenue, West Wyomissing, died July 7 at 7 a.m. in Spruce Manor Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, West Reading, where she had been since October 2000.

She was the wife of Robert P. Chilcote.

Born in King, Bedford County, she was a daughter of the late Vernon and Ethel (Defibaugh) Ritchey.

Chilcote was employed for 12 years as a secretary by Reading Area Community College, retiring in 2000.

She was a 1944 graduate of Altonna High School.

Chilcote also is survived by a son, David T., at home; and a daughter, Mary A. (Chilcote) Kelly, Wyomissing.

Other survivors include a sister, Betty (Ritchey) Turner, Altoona; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 9:00 a.m. in Most Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, Huntington. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Huntington. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society 498 Bellevue Avenue Reading, Pa 19605. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading is in charge of arrangements.
