Dorothy R. Buchter

Dorothy R. "Dot" Buchter, 81, of South Williamsport, PA, formerly of Earlsville, PA, passed away on Thursday, March 31, 2005 at the Williamsport Hospital. She was the wife of the late Leon Buchter, with whom she shared 63 years of marriage.

Dorothy was born March 20, 1924 in Greshville, PA, she was the step daughter of Lawrence A. Ritter and daughter of Lottie K. Scheel.

During WWII Dorothy contributed to the war effort by working for Reading Railroad.

She enjoyed ceramics, crocheting, camping and spending time at the shore fishing, clamming, and crabbing. She also loved cooking, bingo playing, large family gatherings at the family farm in Greshville and was a great cook.

Dorothy was an avid Wheel of Fortune watcher and loved crossword puzzles.

She is survived by two daughters, Carol A. (Charles E., Jr.) Sechler of S. Williamsport; Sherry L. (Jerry) Fick of Cody, WY; three grandchildren and four great grandchildren; a brother, Harlold Wanamaker of Snohomish, WA.

She was predeceased by her parents a brother, Daniel Ritter and a sister, Grace Kinsey.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Dorothy's funeral service on Saturday, April 9, 2005 at 11AM at the Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc. 3300 Kutztown Rd. Lareldale, PA. Interment will be private.
