Dorothy E. Behm

Dorothy E. Behm, 80, died August 26, 2011 in ManorCare, West Reading.

Her husband, Richard E. Behm, passed away August 6, 2008.

Born in Reading, she was a daughter of Earl T., Sr. and Helen L. (Anthony) Devine.

Dorothy was a 1949 graduate of Reading High School.

She was employed at the Sinking Spring Borough for over 24 years as the Assistant Secretary Treasurer, Sewer Treasurer and Sewer Authority Secretary, retiring September 30, 1999.

Dorothy was a former Sunday School teacher and Assistant Girl Scout Leader. She loved her rose garden, cooking, knitting, crocheting and being with her family.

She was a member of the Advent Lutheran Church, West Lawn, where she enjoyed helping with church duties, the nursery and served as head of the Alter Guild for a year.

She is survived by her son, Keith D., husband of Lynn Behm, Maxatawny Township, her two daughters: Eileen L., wife of Randall Impink, South Heidelburg Township, Gail M., wife of Glen Stamm, Maxatawny Township; her brother, Earl T. DeVine Jr., Bern Township, and six grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her sister Winifred H. Mosteller.

Services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading. A viewing will be 12 to 1 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Exeter Township. Online condolences may be recorded at www.kuhnfuneralhome.com.
