Dorothea P. (Pomeroy) Auchter, 81, a resident of Country Meadows, Wyomissing for the last 2 1/2 years died March 13th at 6:55 am in The Reading Hospital and Medical Center, where she had been since February 24th.

She was the widow of P. Charles Auchter, who died November 22, 1985.

Born in Wyomissing Hills, she was a daughter of the late George S. Jr. and Maude (Calwell) Pomeroy.

She was a 1941 graduate of Wyomissing High School.

Auchter was a member of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, West Reading, where she was a past president and treasurer of the Sacred Heart Society.

She was also a past president of the Green Valley Country Club, Ladies Auxiliary.

Auchter is survived by two sons, William C. of Hyattsville, Maryland and Philip R. of Vista, California.

Other survivors include two daughters, Elizabeth J. (Auchter) Nawrocki of Boca Raton, Florida and Barbara A. (Auchter) Korczykowski of Muhlenberg Township.

She is also survived by a sister, Nancy (Pomeroy) Seivers of Knoxville, Tennessee, seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10:00 am in Sacred Heart R.C. Church, West Reading. Viewing will be Wednesday 9:30 - 10:00 am in the church. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township. Contributions may be made to the Sacred Heart Memorial Fund, Lakeview and Franklin Streets, West Reading, Pa 19611 or Berks County Red Cross, 701 Centre Avenue, Reading, Pa 19601 or Berks Visiting Nurse Association, 1170 Berkshire Blvd., Wyomissing, Pa 19610. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading, is in charge of arrangements.
