Doris M. Wertz

Doris Marie Wertz, 72, of Muhlenberg Township, died June 8, 2010 in ManorCare, Pottstown.

Born February 1, 1938 in Reading, she was a daughter of the late James W. and Marie E. (Aschenbrenner) Wertz.

Doris was a graduate of Muhlenberg High School and a 1961 graduate of Kutztown University.

She was employed as an elementary school teacher with the Hamburg School District.

Doris was a member of Holy Guardian Angels R.C. Church, Hyde Park.

Surviving are two sisters, Joan E. McCracken and Jean A. Leininger, both of Phoenixville and a sister-in-law, Janice Wertz, of Blandon.

In addition, there are five nieces and nephews surviving.

Doris was predeceased by a brother, Robert J. Wertz.

Prayer Services will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale, with Rev. Christopher M. Zelonis celebrating. A viewing will be held from 9:30 am until time of service. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township.
