Doris Mae Phillips

Doris Mae (Davis) Phillips, 82, of Muhlenberg Township, died May 11, 2013 in The Reading Hospital and Medical Center.

She was the wife of James J. Phillips whom she married August 22, 1950.

Born February 20, 1931 in Reading, she was a daughter of the late William H. and Susan S. (Yesenochin) Davis.

Doris was a 1948 graduate of Reading High School.

She was a 30 years colon cancer survivor.

She was a member of Holy Guardian Angels Roman Catholic Church, Hyde Park.

Doris enjoyed reading, camping, doing puzzles and spending time with her granddaughters.

In addition to her husband,she is survived by her son, Glenn J. Phillips, Laureldale; brother, William H. Davis, Jr., companion for ten years with Anna Lied, Sinking Spring and two granddaughters, Nicole and Natalie.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. Holy Guardian Angels Church, 3121 Kutztown Road, Reading, PA 19605. A viewing will be held Tuesday evening from 7:30-9:00 in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, 3300 Kutztown Rd, Laureldale, PA 19605. There will be time for visitation, Wednesday in Holy Guardian Angels from 10:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Berks County Memorial Gardens, Maidencreek Township.
