Doris M. Makuch

Doris M. Makuch, 87, passed away July 30, 2014 in her Wyomissing residence.

She was the widow of Wesley Makuch.

Born November 7, 1926 in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Harvey O. and Margaret (Hahn) Hoffman.

Doris attended Reading High School.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church.

Doris loved spending time with her family and absolutely adored her grandchildren.

She is survived by her three sons: Wesley C. Makuch, Shillington; Michael E. Makuch, companion of Debra A. Schneck, Sinking Spring; and Mark A., husband of Bonnie Makuch, Mohnton. Also surviving are her three siblings: Carl Hoffman, Reading; Peggy Sterling, Reading; and Gladys, wife of Norman Stump, Wyomissing. "Nanny" will also be missed by her four grandchildren: Matthew Makuch, Margaret, wife of Adam Exas, Samantha Makuch, and Andrew Makuch; as well as her "adopted granddaughter", Emma Schneck.

Doris was predeceased by her grandson, Christopher W. Makuch, in 2012; and her brothers: Foster Hoffman, and Kenneth Hoffman.

Services will be Monday at 11:30 a.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading. A viewing will be held from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
