Doris J. Lease, 82, of Birdsboro, went home to be with the Lord on November 11, 2011, after a courageous battle with lymphoma, in The Reading Hospital and Medical Center.
Born in Lancaster, she was a daughter of the late John and Helen (Hershey) LeFevre.
Doris was a graduate of Manor Millersville High School and Lancaster Bible College.
Through out her career she was employed as a church secretary, church pianist/organist as well as a secretary and medical transcriptionist. She and her husband served in home missions as church planters with Village Missions which took them to Oregon, Michigan, Indiana and Kentucky. Locally she and her husband served West Wyomissing Chapel for 5 years before relocating to Florida to serve with Hebrew Christian Fellowship. After returning to Pennsylvania she ministered musically at the piano and blessed many with her musical talents at Exeter Bible Church for many years.
She is dearly missed by her four children: Deborah J., wife of Daniel Radford, Yucca Valley, CA; David M., husband of Jutta Lease, Melbourne, FL; Donna S., wife of Craig Potteiger, Birdsboro and Douglas E., husband of Jodi Lease, Muhlenberg Township. Also surviving are her siblings: Margaret, widow of Richard Sharpe, Cleveland, OH and J. David, husband of Darlene LeFevre, Berwick. 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren survive her.
