Doris Ida Kochon

Doris Ida (Niehus) Kochon, 88, died September 23, 2013 in her Laureldale Borough residence.

She was the wife of Leonard John Kochon who died May 18, 2012.

Born March 8, 1925 in Wisconsin, she was one of thirteen children to the late Adolf and ___________ Niehus.

Doris was employed as a CNA with The Leader Home, Laureldale. Prior to that she was a telephone operator with Bell Telephone and a waitress.

She was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church, Laureldale.

Surviving are her five children: E. James Hersh of Annapolis, MD; Evie Jean, wife of Robert J. Entler of Temple; Carolyn J., widow of Simon T. Cressley of Oley; Alice K., wife of Wade R. Kunkle of Laureldale and Lisa M., wife of Christopher Kuberiet of South Plainfield, NJ.

Other survivors include her twelve grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

She will also be sadly missed by her dog, Lillie.

Doris was predeceased by her son, Michael M. Kochon, who died March 17, 1983; her granddaughter, Abigail M. Kuberiet and her step-granddaughter, Jennifer Entler.

Services will be Thursday at 8 p.m. in Kuhn-Stitzel Funeral Homes, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale. A viewing will be held from 6:00 p.m. until the time of service. Burial will be private in Allen Union Cemetery, Northampton.
