Doris B. Johnson

Doris B. (Ziprik) Johnson, 90, died peacefully in her Shillington home on January 10, 2012 She was predeceased by her husband, George R. Johnson, who left her reluctantly on January 23, 2008.

Born in Middletown, CT, she was a daughter of the late Lillian (Dreaher) Walston and step-father, Edwin Judge Walston.

Deedee loved her family and in her latter years got great joy and comfort reviewing family photos and being cared for by her grandchildren. She is survived by twin children, Lynne, wife of Dr. Peter Schwartz; and Terry Johnson; three grandchildren, Seth, husband of Dr.Susanna (Hinkle)Schwartz, Lael Schwartz and Drew Schwartz; and two great-grandchildren, Leah and Hannah Schwartz.

Doris was predeceased by her brother, Harry Walston and sisters, Anita Desormeries and Pat Vincens.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 11 a.m. in Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Church, where she was married in 1942. 601 Silas Deane Highway, Wethersfield, CT. Burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Park. Friends may call Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in Brooklawn Funeral Home, 501 Brook St., Rocky Hill, CT.
