Doris J. Kendall

Doris J. Kendall, 92, passed away June 21, 2016 in Columbia Cottage of Wyomissing.

Born in Laureldale, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Mary (Neeb) Sterner.

Her husband, Richard A. Kendall, passed away on August 30, 1999.

Doris was a 1941 graduate of Muhlenberg High School and received her bachelor's degree in music education from Lebanon Valley College.

She was employed by Bethany Orphanage after college then the Schuylkill Valley School District as an elementary music teacher.

Doris is survived by her daughters, Karen K., wife of John D. Guers, West Lawn; and Janet L., wife of Barry L. Heim, Shohola, PA. Three grandchildren; Michael D. Guers, Valerie L. O'Leary, and Jeffrey K. Guers, and three great grandchildren also survive her.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, June 23, 2016 at 11 a.m. in the Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading. Burial will follow in Pleasant View Cemetery. A viewing will be held Thursday from 10-11 a.m. in the funeral home.
