Doral Wynette Harris

Doral Wynetta Harris, 60, of Shillington, died November 25, 2013 in Reading Hospital and Medical Center.

She was the wife of Ronnie M. Harris, whom she married June 25, 1995.

Born March 5, 1953 in Queens, NY, she was a daughter of Queen Esther (Mann) Bethea of Birmingham, AL and the late Rev. Barney B. Bethea.

Doral was a graduate of Jamaica Vocational High School, New York.

She was employed in the accounting department of The Department of Veteran Affairs, Richmond, VA.

Doral loved riding motorcycles, shopping and dancing. She loved to have fun and help others, but she always put her family first.

Surviving in addition to her husband and mother are her two children, Charles B., husband of Roshanda L. Mitchell of Richmond, VA and Michelle N. Strong of Shillington and her two step-children, Anton, husband of Lavitica Davis and Ronnie L. Harris, both of Norfolk, VA.

Other survivors include her siblings: Anita Bethea-Wilson, wife of Robert Wilson of Jamaica, NY; Barney B. Bethea, Jr. of CA; Ladee, wife of Gary Birdsong of Birmingham, AL; Michael Saunders of Queens, NY and Leon, husband of Zina Eason of Reading.

There are also eight grandchildren and many nieces and nephews surviving.

Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading. Viewings will be held Monday evening from 6:30-8:00 and Tuesday morning one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
